MoU Signing Ceremony – UNPAR and doctorSHARE

On Wednesday, September 6th 2023, UNPAR signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Yayasan Dokter Peduli (doctorSHARE), at the UNPAR Rectorate Building in Bandung, Indonesia. One of the key agreements is a collaboration to address healthcare issues, especially in remote areas of Indonesia.

The MoU was signed by UNPAR Rector Prof. Tri Basuki Joewono, Ph.D, and the Chairman of doctorSHARE, Tutuk Utomo Nuradhy. Also present at the signing were UNPAR’s Vice-Rector for Cooperation, Alumni, Innovation, and Business, Ir. Catharina Badra Nawangpalupi, Ph.D; Dean of UNPAR’s Faculty of Law, Dr. iur. Liona Nanang Supriatna, M.Hum; University Secretary Sylvia Yazid, Ph.D; and representatives from DoctorSHARE.

The agreed-upon collaboration includes activities related to Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi (teaching, research, and community service). One of the main focuses of the UNPAR and doctorSHARE collaboration is to provide healthcare services and research development to enhance the competencies of future medical professionals.

UNPAR Rector Prof. Tri Basuki stated that the collaboration with doctorSHARE is part of UNPAR’s efforts in establishing a Medical Faculty. He expressed hope for a smooth process and stated, “I believe doctorSHARE will greatly assist us in the future. Please pray for its success, and the Medical Faculty will become a new addition to the UNPAR family.”

Tutuk Utomo, the Chairman of doctorSHARE, welcomed the collaboration with UNPAR, emphasizing the potential for future collaboration in healthcare services and humanitarian assistance. He viewed it as an opportunity to engage the academic community in addressing healthcare issues, particularly in remote areas of Indonesia.

He also encouraged UNPAR to become more involved in the Floating Hospital Program, which has been running since 2013 to meet the healthcare needs of underserved communities on remote Indonesian islands. He described it as a privilege and expressed hopes that this collaboration would generate new initiatives in the healthcare sector to reach marginalized communities in Indonesia’s remote regions.
