Bandung City

Bandung is a lovely city, located in West Java as the Capital City. Bandung is also called with “Kota Kembang” (The City of Flower). Formerly, this city had been seen as a beautiful city with so many flowers and various plants. In the early of 18th century, Bandung was also called as Paris Van Java because of its beauty that looked like Paris.

Weather

Indonesia has two kinds of seasons. They are rainy season and dry season. Formerly, rainy season is from April to September; and dry season is from October to March. However, nowadays climate change happens everywhere, includes Indonesia. Sometimes, day could be very hot but suddenly it would be very cold because of sudden rain. For daily activity, umbrella is quite important to bring, in case.

Clothing

On campus, students usually dress casually. Clothes that are not allowed are such as shorts, tank-tops, sandals and sleeveless shirts.

Banking

There are two banks which are located on campus. They are Permata Bank and OCBC Bank. Besides, there are also some banks which are nearby from the university, on the Cihampelas Street. They are Bank Central Asia (BCA), Permata Bank, and Mandiri Bank. Moreover, there are also several Auto Teller Machines (ATM) of different kind of Bank. They are Permata Bank, Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI), OCBC NISP Bank, Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), Mandiri Bank, Bank Central Asia (BCA), and CIMB Niaga Bank.

Food

There are various kinds of food around campus. The cost is also various, depends on students’ lifestyle. Averagely, cost is around between Rp. 10.000,- and Rp. 20.000,- (ten thousand rupiahs until twenty thousand rupiahs).

Transportation

Here, Public Transportation will be called as “Angkot”. There are various route of Angkot that can bring passengers to places in Bandung.

Community

Major community who lives in Bandung is Sundanese People. Most of them are Moslem. Besides, there are still also other race, such as Java and other religion, such as Christian, Buddha, etc. Because of that, it is important to respect each other in social community.
