Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB) Scholarship at UNPAR

Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB) is a program focused on developing countries partnership program by giving scholarship provided for Foreign Student Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral Degree Program at selected universities in Indonesia. Officially launched in 2006 by the Directorate General of Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia, this program has been attracting 896 students from 64 developing countries around the world.  The scholarship is offered to Bachelor and Doctoral Degree Student to study in Indonesia for 5 years, and Master Degree Student to study in Indonesia for 3 years, consisting of one year of Indonesian Language study and Preparatory Programs then 4 years of Bachelor/Doctoral Program or 2 years of Master Program.

  • Bachelor Programs: Development Economics, Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, International Relations, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Philosophy, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Informatics;
  • Master Program: Management, Law, Development Studies (formerly Social Science), Business Administration, International Relations, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Divinity Studies, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering;
  • Doctoral Program: Economics, Architecture.

Required Documents

  1. Curriculum Vitae;
  2. Scan of valid passport;
  3. English Proficiency Test (Applicant from non English-Speaking Countries);
  4. Recommendation Letter from The Employer/Immediate Supervisor (in English or Bahasa);
  5. Academic Recommendation Letter from Previous Schools (in English or Bahasa);
  6. Academic Certificate and Academic Transcript from previous degree (in English or Bahasa) that has been legalized by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the applicant’s country;
  7. Recommendation letter from the potential research supervisor in one of the universities providing partner of the KNB Scholarship (for doctoral applicant only);
  8. Statement of purpose of their studies in Indonesia (for doctoral applicant only) in English or Bahasa

 Scholarship Coverage:

  1. A round-trip international airfare (economy class) from the international airport of the student’s home countries to Indonesia, including local transport to the host university;
  2. A Settlement Allowance (be given to new students upon their arrival in Indonesia)
  3. Indonesian language course and preparatory programs
  4. Living Allowance during Language Program and Master Program (Living Allowance, Research Allowance, Books Allowance during Study Program)
  5. Monthly Allowance during Master Program A health insurance (In case of the cost of medical services exceeded to those covered by the health insurance, the difference should be borne by the student)
  6. The scholarship will be provided for a maximum of 5 years for Bachelor/Doctoral Program and 3 years for Master Program (In case of early program completion, the scholarship will be stopped soon after the student set off for their home country);
  7. Please be advised that the scholarship scheme will only sufficient to cover one person to living properly in most cities where the universities are located.

*Please be advised that other expenses beside above mentioned items will be considered as personal expenses and will be borne by the students.
