Warmest greetings from Handong Global University, South Korea!

We are pleased to inform you the information for 2014 Fall Handong Exchange Student Program. The application deadline is May 16th, 2014. By the deadline, you can send us HGU Student Exchange Program Application (form 1) along with the nomination form via email, and all the other requirements could be sent afterwards by May 30th, 2014.

Course Offering

  • Please refer to the 2013 Fall course list. Our 2014 fall course list will be finalized in a week, and we will inform you again as soon as the up-to-dated course list is done.
  • All courses in the list are open to exchange students.
  • Korean language courses with credit for exchange students are available.
  • We also offer International Buddy System, semester-based team meeting with international professor/students, Jeju Island trip and various exciting cultural activities.

Application Requirements

  • Completed Student Exchange Program Application Form (Form 1) — attached
  • Sealed Recommendation Form completed by a college professor or advisor (Form 2) — attached
  • Official transcript of all college courses taken
  • Photocopy of the front page of your passport (must be clear and legible)
  • Evidence of financial standing in English (for visa issuance – e.g. financial guarantee from your home university OR bank statement with min. USD 3,000)
  • Proof of insurance (if applicable; copy of Health Insurance certificate/card or insurance application form)
  • 1 Head-shoulder photo (please affix photo on the application form and also send a digital photo to exchange@handong.edu)

2014 Fall Semester
Application deadline May 16th
When will the student know of acceptance? June 13rd
Arrival dates August 25th
Orientation week August 26th – 30th
Semester starts September 1st
Final exam December 15th – 19th

Student’s Budget

  • travel expenses in Korea: approx. 100,000 KRW
  • textbooks: approx. 200,000 KRW
  • orientation fee: approx. 150,000 KRW
  • blanket, bed cover, etc.: approx. 100,000 KRW
  • living expenses (/month): approx. 350,000 KRW
