Darmasiswa Program

The DARMASISWA Program is a non-degree scholarship program offered by the Government of Indonesia to international students from countries that maintain diplomatic relations with Indonesia. Established in 1974 as an initiative among ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) member countries, the program initially welcomed participants exclusively from ASEAN nations. In 1976, the program expanded to include students from various countries such as Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hungary, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, and the United States. Since the early 1990s, the program has been further extended to applicants from countries with diplomatic relations with Indonesia, reaching participation from more than 135 countries worldwide today.

The DARMASISWA Program aims to promote and enhance international interest in Indonesian language, arts, and culture among global communities, particularly young people. Beyond language learning and cultural immersion, the program also seeks to strengthen cross-cultural understanding, international friendship, and cooperation between Indonesia and participating countries.

Through this program, participants have the opportunity to experience Indonesian culture firsthand while studying at selected universities across Indonesia, including Parahyangan Catholic University (UNPAR).
