Universitas Katolik Parahyangan (UNPAR) and Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) have a discussion to solidify a dynamic academic collaboration. This strategic alliance not only signifies a significant leap in fostering international academic ties but also promises a host of enriching opportunities for students and faculty members alike.

As academic peers, UNPAR and CYCU stand shoulder to shoulder with 7 colleges, 1 school, 29 departments, 38 master’s programs, and 13 doctoral programs each—a perfect symphony of size and academic history.

CYCUs academic prowess shines through with an exceptional 97% of lecturers holding Ph.D. degrees, a testament to a shared commitment to unparalleled academic excellence.

Beyond traditional academic landscapes, the collaboration embraces joint full-degree and double-degree programs, with ongoing discussions exploring the integration of innovative 3+1 and 3+1+1 initiatives. Drawing inspiration from successful 3+1+1 experiences at Atma Jaya Jakarta, the partnership ventures into uncharted territories.

The collaborative spirit extends to the forefront of cutting-edge research in Nano-technology, Fuel Cell, Mechatronics, Sustainability, and Civil Engineering. Ongoing discussions on potential collaborations in these areas highlight a joint dedication to pushing the boundaries of knowledge.

Student mobility takes center stage, offering exciting opportunities for semester-based exchanges, summer camps, and short programs. Program alignment emerges as a key theme, with Mechanical Engineering at CYCU mirroring Industrial Engineering at UNPAR, and Electrical Engineering at CYCU seamlessly aligning with Computer Science at UNPAR.

Promising scholarship opportunities beckon, with government scholarships like TAFS offering USD 25K/month for three years, accessible to faculty members and research assistants. Further opportunities lie in Taiwanese government and industry scholarships, offering stipends of around 10,000 Taiwanese dollars per month, with post-study work commitments in Taiwan.

As this collaboration unfolds, the academic world eagerly anticipates a new era of excellence, cultural exchange, and global collaboration. Stay tuned for more updates as this transformative journey progresses!
