Bandung, 16 April 2025 – ParahyanganCatholic University (UNPAR) had the honor of welcoming Professor Darius von Guttner, Campus Dean of the Australian Catholic University (ACU) – Canberra Campus, during his visit to Indonesia.

This visit marks a significant moment in the continued partnership between UNPAR and ACU, institutions that have shared a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for academic collaboration. Prof. von Guttner’s visit aimed to reaffirm the mutual commitment to strengthening cooperation in areas such as student and staff exchange, joint research initiatives, and the development of international academic programs.

The meeting with the Dean of Canberra (ACU) highlighted several potential avenues for academic collaboration. While current restrictions mean that double-degree and joint-degree programs are on hold, opportunities remain open in other areas, particularly through seminars, reciprocal student exchanges, and inter-campus collaboration schemes such as co-supervision arrangements. There is also room to explore doctoral-level cooperation, especially in fields like economics and law, with further discussions needed to refine possibilities. Although regulatory constraints and cost considerations may apply, both institutions share a mutual interest in strengthening ties, fostering academic mobility, and enhancing teaching and learning activities across campuses.

UNPAR deeply values this ongoing relationship and looks forward to expanding meaningful collaboration with ACU in support of global academic excellence and intercultural understanding.
