From January 20th to 25th, 2025, the International Student Conference (ISC) returns as Parahyangan Catholic University’s greatly anticipated flagship event, focusing on “The Future of Education” under the grand theme of  “Innovating, Shaping and Pioneering the Future of Learning: Empowering Youth Voices”.

For over five days, ISC 2025 provides a dynamic space for participants to develop ideas and engage in discussions through three keynote lectures, six workshops, one site visit, and two cultural experiences. As the event is celebrating its tenth anniversary, ISC 2025 takes a step up as the event was conducted in two major cities in Indonesia: Bandung and Jakarta.

To further delve on the overarching grand theme, the Committee has established three sub-themes– each serving as a framework for participants to critically engage with the key issues and shape their perspectives.

The three sub-themes which focus on inclusivity, innovation and sustainable values in educational practices, were strategically integrated to specific keynote lectures and workshops. Such structured approaches were taken by the Committee to ensure comprehensive understanding, equipping participants with the insights and tools needed to shape the future of education.

Designed to empower future leaders and changemakers, ISC 2025 encourages participants to recognize that meaningful education extends beyond simply receiving knowledge—it is about engaging, applying and creating a tangible impact that leads to real-world change.

Together with speakers and workshop facilitators from INU Member Universities, Bandung Institute of Technology, and UNPAR, ISC 2025 had the honor of welcoming distinguished guest H.E. Ar. Siti Rozaimeriyanty Dato Haji Abdul Rahman, Secretary General of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA).q

Her Excellency’s presence was part of AIPA’s partnership with ISC 2025 to deliver the keynote lecture and collaborate for the 4th Model AIPA as participants’ final project. In the final project, each participant role-plays as delegates from ASEAN member states in discussing key issues on education facing the ASEAN region while utilizing the insights from the keynote lectures as well as workshops.

ISC 2025 concludes with an engaging visit to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, a recreational park designed to showcase Indonesia’s rich culture and heritage. Participants were divided into three different groups to engage in a fun “Amazing Race” that offers a unique learning experience as teams explore the park and complete a series of challenges that highlight Indonesia’s diverse traditions, history, and landmarks
