Bandung, June 18th 2025 – Catholic Parahyangan University (UNPAR) held a meeting with Avila University, a private Catholic university in Kansas City, Missouri, United States. From UNPAR, the meeting was attended by the Director (Reinard Primulando, Ph.D.) and the International Affairs Manager (Annisa Paramita Wiharani, M.A.) of the Directorate of International Affairs, Partnership, and Alumni UNPAR. From Afila University, the meeting was attended by the Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer (Andy Jett, Ed.D.). The meeting was also attended by Mrs. Fifi and Mrs. Rina from E-Step, to explore opportunities for academic collaboration.
Avila University expressed its openness to a wide range of cooperative initiatives, including student exchange programs, short courses, dual-degree programs, international seminars and conferences, joint research, and Indonesian language and cultural studies, while also reaffirming its commitment to support proposals put forward by UNPAR.
The discussion highlighted Avila University’s academic strengths in computer technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging engineering fields, as well as in business studies, where five undergraduate programs allow students to take up to 18 credits per semester for potential joint or dual-degree schemes.
With its comprehensive academic portfolio spanning undergraduate and graduate programs in business, education, communication and visual arts, health sciences, liberal studies, performing arts, psychology, STEM, and social sciences, Avila University offers significant potential for collaboration.
UNPAR also introduced the prospect of involving Avila in the upcoming International Student Conference (ISC) 2026, with both institutions agreeing to continue discussions toward a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize future cooperation in line with shared priorities and interests.
