Bandung, Indonesia – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Parahyangan Catholic University (UNPAR), Bandung, and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) are strengthening their academic ties through the development of a prospective double degree undergraduate program in Business Administration and Accounting.
Following a series of constructive meetings in Kuala Lumpur, Annisa Paramita Wiharani, Manager of International Affairs at UNPAR, together with Sandra Faninda, Head of the Accounting Laboratory, engaged in detailed discussions with representatives from UTM’s academic units. UNPAR representatives visited UTM Headquarters in Kuala Lumpur and continued the discussion at UTM’s School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPACE) in Johor Bahru. These meetings provided a comprehensive view of UTM’s academic offerings and operational structures relevant to international collaboration. The dialogue centered on curriculum compatibility, program structure, and the administrative framework needed to establish a joint academic pathway between the two institutions.
This initiative builds upon a longstanding collaboration between UNPAR and UTM, which began with a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of Civil Engineering. The current effort reflects a shared commitment to expanding interdisciplinary cooperation and advancing international education.
By initiating this partnership, both institutions aim to enhance international academic mobility, provide students with global exposure, and prepare graduates with competitive cross-border competencies. The double degree program is expected to offer students the opportunity to study at both universities, earning qualifications that reflect academic excellence and international engagement.
Further coordination is underway, including curriculum mapping and formal documentation, with both universities expressing strong enthusiasm to formalize the collaboration in the near future.
